The Automation Plan

Do you want to get going and start automating parts of your business right away?

Wait. Let’s put a plan together and make sure you get it right first time, on time. It will save you in the long run. We call this small piece of work The Automation Plan.

What do you get with The Automation Plan?

Automation opportunities

We work with you to identify the automation opportunities across your organisation and then agree where to start and what comes next.

Automation or agent

For each opportunity, we identify whether a simple automation will do the job or it needs an agent that can make its own decisions. Very often, a simple automation works fine.

Data and technology readiness

We review your data and current technology stack to make sure it’s ready for automations and agents. If not, we’ll recommend the changes you need to make.

Priorities, with time and impact

We’ll estimate the time required, incorporate any other changes needed, the likely business impact and how much of a priority it is, for each automation opportunity. This leaves you with a plan you can implement, or we can.

What happens after The Automation Plan?

It’s usually easier if we do the first automation for you, and show you how easy automations can be, as long as you put the right foundations in place. We might agree to start with a pilot and then, when it’s proven, help you roll out the full automation. You can take over when you are ready, and we can provide ongoing support if you need it.

What else would you like to know?

How much does it cost?

We always like to start with something manageable, and because we use AI in everything we do, you’ll probably find we cost a lot less than you might expect. Let’s have a brief meeting about your specific requirements, and then we can let you know the costs.

We know what we’d like to automate. Do we still need The Automation Plan?

Usually, yes, and with one task in mind it’s quicker. We still check the data and systems it depends on, estimate the time it could save and scope the build, so it’s ready to start.

Do our data and systems need to be in order first?

No. Checking them is part of The Automation Plan: for each task, we look at whether the data and systems it depends on are ready.

Do we need an AI agent, or an automation?

It depends on whether you can write down the steps. If you can, an automation is quicker to build and easier to test, and it does the same thing every time. If the work needs judgement that changes from case to case, an agent may be the right choice, with clear limits on what it can reach and a person checking where it matters.

In The Automation Plan, we recommend one or the other for each task, and very often it’s the simpler one.

What shouldn’t be automated?

Work where judgement, accountability or the relationship is the point, and any process nobody has agreed on yet. Automating a muddled process gets you the same muddle, faster.
